About Wanted
Wanted is a ranked list of gifts people actually want. Most gift guides are long, samey, and afraid to tell you when something isn't right for your person. We wanted something quicker and more honest, and a bit more fun to read.
How we choose
A gift makes the list when it does something specific well and has a track record to back that up. We look at:
- Reputation over time. We favor products people still recommend years later over anything that's merely trending this week.
- Owner reviews and expert write-ups. We look for patterns in what people praise and what they complain about.
- Who it's for. Every pick has to suit a type of person we can describe, as well as a type of person who should skip it.
What we don't do
We don't lab-test products, and we don't pretend to have tried every item on the list. The rankings are our opinion, based on research. Companies can't pay for a place on the list or a higher ranking.
About the prices
Amazon prices change often, so we show broad ranges, called bounties, rather than exact numbers. Always check the current price and the return policy on Amazon before you buy.
